Past experience with Jags always make me suspect the battery, Even though it might seem fine. Jaguar S-Type 2.7D 2005 - Restricted performance. restricted performance alert - car has reduced power - thought it might be air mass meter but no luck when this was replaced- am at a loss to know what it could be!
- The 3.0 (and possibly also 2.7) diesel V6: catastrophic failure through a snapped crank due to spinning main bearings. I wouldn't say this is common though and more often seems to affect Land Rovers with these engines. - Intercooler ducts cracking, leading to restricted performance. Probably only pre facelift. The newer (AJ133/AJ126) petrol cars
