639. Reactions. 454. Sep 9, 2018. #2. Consider obstacle avoidance to be a gimmick that won't actually do anything except detect very large objects and cause the drone to be stopped by the sun. It doesn't detect branches well, and relying on it to avoid obstacles is going to end up with a dead drone. Last edited: Sep 9, 2018.

Hi all, Just noticed yesterday that my obstacle avoidance is not working anymore on my Mavic pro. The radar display is not present and it is not avoiding either. Have a look at the little Screenshot movie I made and maybe somebody will find out what I was missing. No warnings of sensors not working or any malfunction.. As with its predecessor, the Mavic Air 2 features a 3-axis motorised gimbal, with a 24mm full-frame equivalent lens with an aperture of f/2.8. It has obstacle avoidance and depth sensors on all sides except the top with DJI’s latest APAS 3 collision avoidance which seems to work extremely well if the demonstration in the video is anything to go by.
